The Association

Founded in 1976, the Philadelphia Treasury Management Association (PTMA) is proud of its history and reputation for providing professional and educational services to treasury professionals. The PTMA was incorporated in 1996. In 2003, the Philadelphia Treasury Management Association changed to the Philadelphia Association for Financial Professionals (PAFP).

The PAFP provides a forum for the exchange of ideas, discussion of legislative, regulatory, and banking issues and developments, as well as the opportunity to network with other cash and treasury management professionals in the Delaware Valley.

The PAFP is affiliated with the Association for Financial Professionals (formerly the TMA) and works with this national organization on regulatory and legislative issues affecting the profession.

Membership

Members must be corporate practitioners, bankers, educators, or consultants specializing in cash and/or treasury management. In addition, they should represent corporations, financial institutions, or government agencies operating in the Delaware Valley region. Although the PAFP does not limit the number of members from a company or institution, only two members from any one organization are permitted voting rights.

Dues

Membership Dues are charged annually, for the calendar year. Invoices for dues are made available each year in October. Current dues are $125.00 per year.

Meetings

Monthly program meetings are usually held on the second Wednesday of each month from September through June. Most programs consist of one or more speakers on topics of interest to the membership. Typical program content includes topics related to banking services, investments, capital markets, and legislative actions related to the cash and treasury management profession. Most programs are certified for CTP renewal credits.

In addition, the meetings provide an excellent opportunity to meet and exchange ideas with other treasury professionals in the area.

Publications and Website

The PAFP provides a monthly newsletter via email to its membership. In addition, the PAFP maintains a website (www.philadelphiaafp.com), listing information about the organization’s activities, information about Governmental Relations activities, and job postings.

Social Events

The PAFP generally hosts a Holiday Luncheon in December and an Annual Event in June. These social events provide members with additional opportunities to meet and network with other treasury professionals.

Other Services and Benefits

The PAFP provides a free job posting service for employers and recruiters via its website. Additionally, members seeking career opportunities may give their resumes to the PAFP President, who is often consulted by employers and recruiters looking for qualified candidates in the area.

The PAFP sponsors a one-day educational conference, "Trea$ury Initiatives", each year. The conference provides one full day of concurrent treasury and cash management sessions and an opportunity to network with peers.

The PAFP also sponsors annual review sessions for candidates preparing for the CTP examination. These sessions are provided by PAFP volunteers to help other members to study for the exam, and are offered at no charge to PAFP members.

Classes are being coordinated now.

Anyone who is interested in teaching or attending the classes should contact our Education Co-Chair.
